Exploring the Future of Mapping: From 2D to 3D

Tokyo, Japan — May 15, 2025 — Mapbox Japan G.K., the leading digital mapping platform, will participate in Mobility Night #3 – Map Visualization, taking place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the KINTO Technologies Muromachi office in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. During the 7:50pm session, Mapbox will present on the topic “Exploring the Future of Mapping: From 2D to 3D”, showcasing new techniques and possibilities in 3D map visualization.

Mapbox’s mapping platform continues to expand its presence in the mobility sector, powering in-vehicle navigation systems for Toyota in North America, Europe, and Australia, as well as the 3D map experience in the Yahoo! Car Navigation app. In this session, Mapbox will introduce the latest in digital map expression, including 3D landmarks, indoor 3D mapping, and real-time weather visualizations that move beyond traditional 2D displays.

Hosted by KINTO Technologies, Mobility Night is a recurring tech event designed to foster collaboration across the mobility ecosystem. The third installment, focused on Map Visualization, will feature sessions on map UI design, polygon rendering, POI representation, and more.
